Designed for use in head and facial computed tomography scans, the AttenuRad Eye Shield molds over the nasal bridge with the eye shield portions laying flat over the patient's closed eyes. The brassiere consists of two large panels, one for each breast, connected and secured by reinforced velcro straps. Each panel is specially designed to form-fit the curvatures of the supine body regardless of the patient's size, providing maximum radiation protection to the medial upper breast, the armpit, and other radiosensitive areas. CT Thyroid Shield 10/pkg
Positioned over the adam's apple, the AttenuRad Thyroid Shield is designed to provide maximum protection to the radiosensitive thyroid gland. To ensure proper positioning, a curve notch in the center of the shield is placed at the top of the sternum. An adhesive on the back of the shield holds the shield firm as the patient breaths and swallows. Lateral bow ties are also attached to the inferior flaps of the shield to protect patients with larger necks or larger thyroid glands that extend behind the clavicle or sternum. This shield, when used for the soft tissues of the neck, is cut to a thickness of 4 plys, allowing a 60% dose savings to the thyroid.
